Welcome to Dr. Bear Clinic, a place where children’s health comes first

Dr. Bear Clinic offers modern pediatric care based on the latest international recommendations. Doctors work uniformly according to proven medical procedures to ensure the same quality of care regardless of the specific attending physician. They reject outdated or unproven methods and avoid unnecessary prescriptions. Children only receive antibiotics or cough syrups when they are truly needed.

Great emphasis is placed on vaccination, which takes place according to the recommendations of Czech and international authorities (WHO, CDC, vaccine societies). The goal is to protect children as soon as possible, which is why simultaneous vaccine application is commonly used, as is standard in developed countries.

The clinic promotes a partnership approach with parents – families are actively involved in decision-making. Doctors provide information on the benefits and risks of procedures as well as legal obligations, but decisions are made together.

Care is designed to be as comprehensive as possible. The team includes specialists from multiple fields and ensures follow-up hospital care when needed; however, hospitalizations are only indicated after careful consideration. The clinics are equipped with modern diagnostic tools, including ultrasound, and basic test results are available the same day.

Services also include medical assessments performed in accordance with legislation, with an emphasis on protecting family rights. Communication is handled modernly via an app, where requests can be sent and urgent matters are resolved immediately. Thanks to the appointment system, sick and healthy children are separated, so the waiting room remains safe.

At Dr. Bear Clinic, the top expertise of experienced pediatricians meets a human approach and modern technology. Our pediatric practice in Prague provides care from birth to adolescence – always with respect for the needs of both child and parents.

The team of doctors and nurses is led by Patrik Konopásek, MD, PhD, a pediatrician and pediatric nephrologist with many years of experience from Motol University Hospital. Together with Mária Štěpánová, MD, a pediatrician and company director, they ensure top medical care in close coordination with other doctors in the team: Klára Truhlářová, MD, Simona Kontuľová, MD, and Michaela Komyšáková, MD. The smooth operation of the clinic is managed by an experienced general nurse, Ms. Iveta Svobodová, our head nurse, along with a team of nurses. Initial contact with patients and their requests are handled by our kind and helpful receptionists.

We support the ability for open communication with the latest technology – a patient app through which we handle all parental requests quickly and conveniently.

Which insurance companies does Dr. Bear Clinic have a contract with?

Dr. Bear Clinic has contracts with all Czech public health insurance companies (VZP, ZP MV ČR, OZP, RBP, VoZP, ZP Škoda).

Are you registering new patients?

Yes, our capacity is sufficient, and we are still accepting new patients.

How long will we wait before being accepted into care?

Waiting times vary depending on the number of patients applying for care, the season, staff vacations, etc. The waiting time can range from two weeks to two months. If a pediatrician in the vicinity suddenly closes their practice, waiting times may temporarily increase.

Do you register Ukrainians?

Yes, we register all patients regardless of nationality.

Do you register older children?

Yes, the child’s age does not matter.

Will you accept both of our children?

Yes, it doesn’t matter how many children you have; if you want to register them with us, we will take them all.

Is care at your clinic free? Is care covered by insurance?

We have contracts with all Czech public health insurance companies. You will receive care “on insurance,” meaning free of charge.

Is there a registration fee?

No. We do not charge any registration fee if your child has Czech insurance.

Will we always see the same doctor?

Primarily, we strive for you to always see the same doctor. However, our clinic operates as a so-called shared practice. This means we have a stable team of doctors who cover for each other in case of illness, vacations, etc. Given the range of office hours we provide, we cannot guarantee that you will always be seen only by your specific doctor. The advantage of a shared practice, however, is that we will treat you even when your doctor is not available, so you don’t have to go to an emergency room elsewhere.
